My journey might sound something like yours. I spent 2 decades in my field of Marketing, and while I experienced a lot, I still had a craving for HANDS-ON CREATIVITY. I became a licensed paint contractor and began flipping furniture and building things for my home. Then I started building things to sell in my local community and offering my services to others.

I'm a learn-as-I-go gal and want to share everything with you so we can create together!

DIY 3D Birdhouse Frame🕊️🏠

For this project I used scrap wood and materials that I already hand on hand but you can make this too!

Here’s what you’ll need:
🕊️1x2
🕊️1x1 molding or trim for frame
🕊️MDF board
🕊️Bamboo sticks
🕊️Wood glue
🕊️Primer, paint and stain
🕊️Any accessories of your choice

These 3D frames are great for laying in front of mirrors or amongst vases etc.

This was so simple and fun to make! Highly recommend adding this project to your next DIY list.

🔔Save & share this rattan cane webbing tip!

I got some messages about rattan from my post yesterday and thought I’d share this video again. ⤵️

This is a fun material to use from time to time but it can be frustrating to install if you don’t know how.

Use these simple steps next time you want to try cane webbing:

🔸Soak in water for 20-30 minutes. This step is so important - do not skip! It allows the material to become pliable so you can bend and shape it without snapping or breaking it. You might be tempted to soak for hours but this will only discolor the material.
🔸Measure and cut the caning with a utility knife. I like to put a couple of cardboard pieces underneath to use as my cutting board.
🔸Add wood glue and then place your caning on top. Make sure it’s pulled somewhat firmly and staple into place. I find that the combo of the glue and staples works best.
🔸Adding trim is a nice way to cover up the frayed ends if they are going to be exposed.
🔸Keep in mind that as the material dries, it will pull taut and flat on its own!

This credenza was being used as storage in someone’s office and they were throwing it away to make space so of course I had to snatch it up and give it new life!

These Santa Ana winds have been crazy so I thought I’d bring you along while I cleaned up my outdoor space 💁🏼‍♀️

I’m about 30-45 min from all of these SoCal fires 🔥 and it is just devastating. I can’t even imagine how scary it must be for everyone losing their homes. And so many vids of people trying to save their animals 💔

I’m feel blessed to only have some wind-blown pillows and a knocked over grill. I can’t imaging what these people are going through.

I believe there fires weren’t a coincidence and it angers me how evil can change peoples lives…but that’s a video for another day.

More DIY projects to come but in the meantime, taking a moment to send my thoughts and prayers to all affected by the fires in California!❤️❤️

DIY Footstool….a simple and cute gift!🎁🎄

These are really easy to make. If you’re looking for a fun start-up project, this would be a great project to try.

I used the plans by @anawhiteplans and switched up a couple of things. If you want a link to her plans, comment “footstool” and I’ll message them to you!

I had originally envisioned painting a pretty woodland scene with mountains and trees on top but it ended up looking like a kid painted it and I just couldn’t settle on that 🫠😂 so I started over and used a stencil. Much better!

I’m thinking about having my friends over to do a footstool making party for Mother’s Day/Father’s Day to make these. 🎁💁🏼‍♀️

Rustic Farmhouse Display Case🌾…..

…using all scrap wood that I had in my garage. 👏🏻

I’ve been taking it easy on my projects over the holidays (while many content creators are in full force with holiday projects 😂). I haven’t started a new project over the past couple of weeks so I’ve been craving creativity!

I thought about making a holiday countertop pie safe but …a) who has space on their counter for a PIE SAFE and b) I don’t really keep pies around that often 😅

I thought more of a small display case could be more useful and not restricted to the kitchen counter.

I just cut and glued and attached on a whim and this is how it turned out!🤩 I had some chicken wire laying around from a Halloween project that never panned out so I added that to the door. Totally farmhouse 🐓👌🏻 and yes please wear gloves when working with this material! Ouch 🩸

What do you think? Not too shabby for a scrap wood project, eh?🧐

Turning a pirate ship into a gingerbread playhouse was such a fun challenge!👏🏻

My goal was to repurpose as much wood as possible. It was a lot more challenging than you might think! But these are the challenges that keep me ticking.

Pirate Ship turns Gingerbread House - the REVEAL🎄👏🏻

Finished building out the door and attached with cafè swinging door hinges. This was my first time installing these and it was a liiiiitle tricky but I love the fact that you can push the door from the inside or outside and even prop the door open. Super fun for a little kid!

I didn’t have enough long pieces of wood for the roof so I did have to buy a piece of plywood (I didn’t best to repurpose as much as I could😏). I cut up some cedar fence pickets and did a dry brush with some grey paint to make them look rustic. The roof looks so cute paired with the gingerbread brown house.

I added a little shelf inside and added some simple Christmas items from the @dollartree My favorite item was the solar Christmas bulbs. They are so cute!🎄

This was such a fun and challenging project.

Let’s turn this pirate ship into a Gingerbread Playhouse!🎄

I wanted to repurpose the wood and thought this would be the perfect project. My nephew (2 yrs) always comes over to play and I knew he would love having a little gingerbread house to call his own.

The tricky part was using the wood that I had. I started by measuring the longest pieces first and then made my general plans for the framework. The rest would be built on the fly!

I made pretty good progress on my first day. Check back tomorrow for the final reveal!🎄🎄
